St Dominic’s Catholic Primary School’s Journey with the Blessed Sacrament

This year, in our school and parish we have been focusing on Our Eucharist Journey. Each class has wondered about and adored Jesus through regular opportunities of the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament; with the help of our parish priest Father Patrick.

Our school has produced some amazing art work and displays for Adoremus.

Each class were given a Eucharistic Journey book and created beautiful works of art using design and technology depicting the Blessed Sacrament. We used a variety of different creative elements to help understand the blessed sacrament.

‘Our Eucharistic Journey’ Mass

Tuesday 18th June 4 pupils from our school joined the Head Teacher and the RE lead to join Cardinal Vincent at Westminster Cathedral for a celebration Mass, ending the year-long ‘Our Eucharistic Journey’.

Throughout the year, we created images on the theme of the Eucharist, which were orgainsed in our deanery folders and presented to Cardinal Vincent Nichols during the Mass. We also created a 3D monstrance which we presented at the Mass, our monstrance was placed at the center of the altar for everyone to adore.

Benediction/Adoration service

Fr. Patrick led a Benediction/Adoration service on Wednesday 19th June 2019 to conclude the Adoremus Year.

KS2 attended the special service in our parish church where Fr. Patrick explained the reason for this particular service and gave us a special blessing with the Monstrance.

The children sang Cardinal Vincent Nichols favourite hymns Sweet Sacrament Divine and Sweet Heart of Jesus.
